Hello,
I wanted to know if anyone else had a similar issue in regards to a judder or slight glitch when watch sports? (This is mainly the only thing I’ve seen it on as I’ve only had the tv for a few weeks)
When the program goes onto the main pan shot of the field, every now and again there is a slight judder or glitch for like a half a second. This can happen several times during a match, but I can’t seem to see it when watching anything else?
I have recently purchased a premium HDMI cable (waiting on delivery) and I’ve got a sky engineer coming out to see if it is the box itself.
I just wanted to know if it’s a common issue, or is the tv faulty.
thanks.
Hi @elthomp0777
The initial questions are how long is the HDMI cable and what resolution have you set in your Sky box?
The best cable to use is the Sky (Q?) supplied one. I hope that you haven’t paid too much for your “premium” HDMI cable. A high speed Amazon’s basic cable is just as good as a gold plated one.
The HDMI currently is under 5m but I’m not sure what brand or anything it is, I have recently just had my room decorated and now having my new tv build into the fireplace etc. The old sky one wouldn’t reach where the tv is mounted (sky q 👍).
the new HDMI I have ordered is from a company called ‘TrueHQ’ which is 2m certified, not expensive as I have bought it off Amazon.
Do you think this is the problem?
The cable length and/or quality could definitely be it, but I believe 2-5m wouldn't cause much of an issue, especially if this only happens with specific content, it seems like it might be a motionflow issue or a simple glitch to me.
Have you tried adjusting the motionflow settings (or turning them off completely) also what software version are you currently on?

I will check for an update when I’m back, I currently have all MotionFlow settings off. I looked a lot online before purchase and there was quite a lot of feedback in regards to switching a lot of enhancements off!
So I installed the new HDMI and checked for an update, all bang upto date. Just watched the match still having the issue, is there anything else you can think of? Surely this model tv is capable of handling sports?
Enhancements are almost always recommended to be turned Off, that's also my personal preference in general, but I'll give credit where credit is due, some of my colleagues and friends swear by Sony's MotionFlow specifically for football/soccer, so I wanted to make sure you have it Off before recommending you try enabling just it and having everything else Off.
Also, make sure you have this version, since the TV can sometimes report you have the latest version if it can't see the latest one.
PS: I'm also curious what you'd think of MotionFlow now that you're gonna try it by itself.

Thanks for that!
What other enhancements would you say are best switching off? Il try all the others off and switch motion back on or on smooth? Would having sharpness down to 0 help?
My tv is automatically set to update automatically, so do you think installing this new update would change much? Don’t want to knacker the tele up 😂
Cheers
I have just looked for my model on the Sony website and there was no update for download.
Is the link you have provided a newer update?
Hello elthomp0777,
I have tried the software update and it has made things noticeably smoother, you can find the update here: https://bit.ly/3vUkjC3
