Why is HDR mode locked off on Sony a5000?

To say I am dissapointed is an understatement, HDR is in the specifications on the product page, its an option ON the actual camera, but its always locked? In EVERY single shooting mode it is locked off and unavailable.

Why bother putting something on the camera, if it cant be activated. Why put it on the store page, unless you want to swindle people? I've really enjoyed sony products in the past, but really do feel swindled now. Has anyone else ever had this problem with the camera?

what file format are you using? if your shooting raw or raw+jpeg then it wont work, you have to be on just Jpeg for hdr to be enabled.

Yes, same here. Tried various modes and options, always greyed out. Can someone at Sony tell me how to use it please as there's nothing in the manual either.

As bieomax stated above have you checked that you are not shooting in RAW or RAW/JPEG??
