Shadow in lens SAL1855 18-35mm

I have purchased a Sony lens (SAL 1855) and have found a shadow on all my photos, is there a flaw in this lens? A friend of mine has also commented he has the same issue.

I've a few questions which may help narrow down to a problem

What Camera / Model are you using it on currently?

What mode are you shooting in (eg - M/A/S/P/Auto)

Are you shooting in Jpg or Raw?

Are you able to post a sample picture ?
