This is a very old thread. The current version - 7.6.0 - works just fine, at least on Android.
Hi ThorEgil,
I'm just going to try to find some answers for you. In the meantime, maybe someone else in the community might have some ideas.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi ThorEgil,
Have you tried forgetting the WiFi network generated by the camera from the saved networks on your phone ?

Yes.
Cleared everything, reinstalled the app.
The only thing that helps is rolling back to previous version.
Hi ThorEgil ,
Unfortunately, rolling back isn't possible.
My phone is running Android 9 pie and I am not facing any issue while connecting the camera to my phone.
I'd recommend testing another phone.

Rolling back is as easy as uninstalling the latest version and replacing it with the previous version downloaded from one of the many apk archives around.
I have the phone I have - one of the best yet produced, and according to the feedback to the app in the Play store I'm not alone with problems. The latest version is a total failure.
Hi ThorEgil,
Installing APK files is not always guaranteed to work and to be honest, Sony will never recommend this or guarantee its functionality.
Cheers,

The apk is the previous version of the app. Nothing more, nothing less.
The obvious solution to the problem is that Sony fixes the showstopper bugs in the app ASAP. They did a very sloppy job in the testing department before releasing version 7.3
This app is not working on my android phone, how do I revert to the previous version please?
Experiencing same problem. Too
