So I purchased on the 10th of august an Alpha 7r iii and 3 lenses, registered everything with Sony, got my cashback codes, set a reminder to submit them after the 30days. 2 weeks of website issues later I finally get my codes submitted etc. on the 6th of October I get 3 emails verifying that my claims on the lenses had been accepted and I would receive my cashback within 28 days. There have been no further emails or any attempt to contact me.
28 day timer ran out on the 2nd of November and yep, no cashback received.
Has anyone had this issue ? Who do you contact ?

Support (online chat) gave me the same excuse that hundreds are getting at the moment (been heavily researching how big an issue this is) due to high number of sales they are behind in paying out cashback etc and it will be with me within the next few days. That was nearly a week ago & nothing. As a student trying to survive off a student loan I can't afford to let this go, that £300 is the equivalent of 6 months food budget.

Contacted Sony support, got the run around completely.
Have now contacted watchdog, trading standards and major photography publications requesting the issue be highlighted, a multi billion company should not be treating its customers like dirt.
Can you tell us what Support said?

I know it's a pain but it may be worth you waiting a couple more days
just to see if it appears in your account. Maybe give it until the end of the
week and then get back to me, then I will escalate it for you

So, here we are, end of the week & as I expected, nothing from Sony, no cashback payment and no replies to any of my emails. Been having a few very interesting conversations though, especially with the advertising standards agency.
seems I am also now blocked from using the support chat, tried multiple times to contact Sony yesterday and today & always I get an error code
I have escalated this for you.

The good news is that all 3 instances of cashback hit my bank account earlier today, it’s just sad that it takes such a monumental effort to get Sony to stand by their advertised promises.
Anyhoo.. a 2x converter has now been ordered at last & I’m looking forward to taking it out for a play in the Cairngorms
