Hi,does anyone know how to remove the preinstalled asphalt 9 game?
Hi @Thomas76nl, let me see if I can help out here.
As Asphalt 9 is a preinstalled app, it is not possible to uninstall it, you can however disable the app. Disabled apps become inactive and are removed from the Application screen. You can re-enable a disabled app whenever you want. In order to disable Asphalt 9, find and tap Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all XX apps > Asphalt 9 > Disable
I hope that answered your question!
I already disabled it, but it still is a waist of 2gb of space that i much rather spend on music that is now home forever. Nice that the game came preinstalled, but i (as An owner of the phone) should at least be able to remove it. I have a PS4 for gaming....
Thank you for your quick reply,
2gb sounds a bit extreme, you should be able to erase most of the stored data in the app if you go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all XX Apps > Asphalt 9 > Advanced > App details > Uninstall.
The app will still be shown as disabled on your device, but at least you will be able to free up the majority of the storage.
Try that and let me know how it goes!
On my device only the installer for Asphalt 9 seem to be pre-installed.
It takes up 193kB of memory. I disabled it (along with all Facebook-components) and I see no trace of it elswhere.
I have disabked it in my app list, but it still updates it and downloads the files. It is it comes pre installed with games you cant remove, i am really considering to return the phone
Simple how to delte it really
Add the phone to your pc, search for it under the drive tab
browse to phone drive and search for asphalt 9 (or search under that drive) then press delete.
Its not as simple as you say.... pre-installed apps are almost impossible to uninstall unless you root your phone or use adb to delete the com file....
Make sure Asphalt is not a running process(swipe up from the home button.
Go into Settings, Apps, and stop Asphalt.
Then while in the Asphalt app settings, and storage, and delete cache and data, then back, and disable it, and it will tell you that it will replace itself with the factory version, which is a couple of hundred kb's.
Then check the apps storage, and delete cache, back out, and Stop the app again.
Then go into Google Play store, and stop automatically updating software, and the app will not update again(you can enable auto downloading straight after that).
Asphalt will be disabled and will not auto update again.
You haven't deleted the data, that's your issue, and it's downloaded the latest patch as well.
Yes, it weighs about 193 KB in the application, but if you search through the system files, then these 2 GB are also left there, and you can not delete them in the standard way.
