Flash Tool servicing firmware are still Android 9

I see there is no latest servicing firmware in the Flash Tool for Xperia 1. It's still 55.0.A.6.16 and not the android 11.

Any news on when it will be updated?

Hi there,

Try to update your phone using the Xperia companion, you can check this link for the instructions:https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/mobile-phones-tablets-mobile-phones/xperia-xz2/articles/0...

If that did not update the phone , try to perform software repair by the Xperia companion as well, just make sure to back up your data before you do that.

If that didn't work, it might be that the version is not released to your phone yet, so it is just a matter of time until it's released.

I was after the unlocked phones so I mentioned Emma.
I hope Companion will not work for the Unlocked ones.

Can you please tell me what Sony phone you purchased xperia 1 mark 1 or 11?

In addition If the phone was purchased second hand and it comes from a country where you are not living in now (where the phone is currently located) it will not update to a new version.

The only real way out of this is manually flashing it but as a result you WILL lose calling over WIFI and your DRM keys

so its possible the 960fps will no longer work etc.

The sony phones that can get Android 11 are only the 1 and 5 mark 1 's (2019 models and above)

I have a xz premium, XZ2 Premium and a xz3 (as well as my 1 and 5 marks 1's) and out of them only the  1 and 5 can get android 11.

Hi, I bought it in Hong Kong Sony phones are not available in my country nowadays.

I can see the Radios and stuffs like that here.

I can use Emma OR other 3rd party tools to update and flash the newer firmware 55.2.A.4.154 but what I was mentioning is that the OFFICIAL Emma tool by SONY only has a firmware of Android 9 and Android 10 but not Android 11 as the Servicing Firmware.😊

The reason as i said, that phone is for Hong Kong only

for the reason of that Sony provides updates ONLY for that region where the phone was  designated. 

For example if you went to hong kong updates will be available. Sony sucks that way.

The only real alternative is to download the international firmware for the phone.
