Xperia XZs worth the purchase or Oreo killed it?

Hey guys,

my 6+ died, being my companion for 3 years now, had in the past some samsung devices too (note 1 and 3, still going strong) but i always liked Sony design and wanted to try one.

Now budget wise i can afford the XZs (the 5.2" screen is what made me interested in this phone), the problem is that i need a phone that last at least one day.

I dont play games, i might watch a couple of tvshow, listen to music around 2 hours, surfing facebook and other socials for around 4h... from what i read in this forum Oreo killed the battery, which for me it's a big turn off.
Here in HK, the phone is still sold with Nougat, and from what i understand this release has no issue, my problem is, does the phone automatically update to Oreo?
I have to buy a new phone by this weekend, i hope you guys can give me some good advices.

(XZ PREMIUM, i considered it but it's too off my budget)

I'd say it's worth it, because I use it with Oreo from the time I bought it (few months ago), and it can last whole day with not much different usage pattern then yours, I play games more and listen to music less. My day starts from 7 in the morning to 22 (10) in the evening, I put it on charger at about 25-28% in average. Didn't notice any problems since I bought it.

I made a different experience. Since oreo the phone slowed down significantly. even the keyboard seems to react too slow for my typing. starting the camera seems to take longer also. i also think overheating occurs more frequently than when i bought the phone one year ago. using it outdoors in HK is barely possible. overall I'm not very happy with my purchase.
