Z1 won't start, LED flickers red

Hello dear members,

I hope you can help me. Today I went to work and my phone was fine. Even when I was at work, battery percentage was around 40%. Suddenly, the phone shut down to restart. I thought no problem, maybe a little bug. After it restarted, it shut down completely. So I tried to turn in back on. I saw the Sony logo, then it went off again. Tried the reset with the power button and volume up, the phone restarted till the home screen, then went off again. Had it in the charger and the LED went to green so thought it worked again, but nope, still dead. Now it's in the charger for an hour and the LED is flickering red. Already tried to switch charger cable, also didnt help.. Connected it to the laptop and you continously hear the connect/disconnect sound. Im out of options. Is it a battery problem or software/hardware?

Regards,

Quincy

I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion (phone should be turned off when you do this so it might work).

Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.
How to backup?

If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

Hey Samuel,

Thanks for the quick reply. Like shown above, already tried to plug it on the computer but the computer doesn't recognize the phone.. Slightly_frowning_Face

Did you try the repair option? This is not the same procedure as connecting the phone in PC Companion to update.

All suggestions are welcome, how can I do that?

PC Companion > Support zone > Update phone software > Repair phone software

I'm sorry to hear that.
I suggest that you raise this with your local support team to get information on how to send the phone to a service center for repair.
