Z1 Compact - Wakes up late

Hello All

When I press the power button to wake up my phone ( turn screen on )

It takes a while (say 6-10 seconds ) . I had my phone for a week now. I exprienced this issue onlys yesterday.

however, If i turn  my phone off then on again, the problem is temporarly fixed.

any ideas about what's goin on ?

I have the same problem.

The phone was delivered on 31st January, and after 6 days of use, the power button was just really slow at waking up the screen.

I brought the handset back to the shop and they gave me a new one, that was on 10th Feb. 

Again after about 7 days of use, the button is doing the same on the replaced handset. 

Initially I thought the button just wasn't working, but now i think it looks to be a slow response from the software, especially now that I have seen it on 2 handsets. 

It's a very annoying issue, I've missed calls because of it.

Another issue is the sensor on the front has stopped working too. So I also hang up on people with my face, if im lucky, my face presses the hold button, so i can still get the call back.

Do you have stamina mode enabled?

Thanks for your suggestion, I had stamina mode turned on.  I've swtiched it off though now and still seems to be a lag from when i press the button to when the screen wakes up.

Oh- it's a big lag, at least 5 seconds.

the first time this happened my phone was one Stamina mode. I stwitched off stamina mode and turned my phone off and on.

after about 18 hrs i had the same issue, I had to swtiched my phone off and on again and it's been 12 hrs now 

without any problems .

The phone needs restarting regularly(for the RAM memory to refresh and for Android to work better).But you might have some task killers or battery savers that slow down your phone.

MY flat mate got this phone and has the exact problem, there is a massive random lag when pressing the power button to when the screen comes on.  Its a stock phone from the store with no modifications and minimal apps so  I'd say it's a software bug and Sony need to look into it.  

An NO, you sholdn't have to restart your phone regulary if the software has been written properly and been thoroughly tested.

I have exactly the same problem which has only tonight appeared - exactly one week after taking delivery of my Z1 Compact.

Pressed the power button while in lock mode and it took 8-10 seconds to wake.  This happened each time I tried waking it and after the 5th or 6th time I restarted it.  After the restart it worked fine again, but I can se this becoming annoying if it's going to randomly need a reboot every few days.  A modern piece of equipment like this SHOULD NOT need a reboot to to clear the RAM!  

Can Sony please investigate this?

Any Android device needs restarting to clear RAM.Do you have the setting that power button ends call?
