Xperia z2 won't install apk's

Hey every one,

I'm having another issue with my z2 which randomly happens and causes annoyance.

If it try to install an apk (please note I have untrusted sources enabled) the apks install screen appears and at the bottom you have the usual cancel or install buttons.

For some reason I can always press cancel but if I press install sometimes nothing happens it's as if the system doesn't pick up on the press, i've cleaned the screen and use the phone on a daily basis as I'm writing this for instance I'm pressing exactly were the install button appears and I have no issues so I don't think it's the screen.

This happens randomly some times installs are fine some times there not can anyone help at all.

P. S. This has only started since my phone unmounted my sd card and the card has since become useless.

Hey everyone,

I have a 16gb sandisk sd card i have had it a few years now and has survived my nokia n8 and my galaxy s3 and it seemed to be ok in my xperia z2 that is until today.

I downloaded spotify (never used it before) and while i was listening to music it just stopped playing, i turned the screen on and it said i had no internet connection and i had a notification stating that the sd card had been removed (when it had not been).

Now the sd card is not detected in my xperia z2 even though i have re-inserted it switched the phone on and off again etc.

it is also not deteced on my laptop i have however tried different sd cards in my z2 and they have been deteced without a problem.

i have used the now corrupted card in my old s3 and it is recognised but it needs to be formatted.

What has caused this problem ?.

is my handset at fault or is it sd card (since its old gen) and what sd card do you recommend to change it to.

Probably just a coincidence that your card became corrupted due to this app - I'd recommend a Class 10 card - I personally use Duracell but as I've said in other threads here, This is because I am a reseller but only for commercial use not retail

The apps might not be compatible with your phone

That's the thing they are compatible, but it is truly a random occurrence it happens the other day not with an apk but with a notification and I couldn't click on the yes button I don't quite know why it's doing it.

Maybe it's software related is there any news on a new build coming out soon for our xperia's? I prefer to update rather then do a factory reset.

Try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

see if you have an app called screen filter or blue light filter something like this disable it and try to install your apk again .. it wil work

Hey peeps,

I upgraded from my galaxy s3 to my xperia z2 about 9 months ago everything was working fine until Facebook updated there app to work with lollipop and since then the only push notifications I've recieved are from a couple of game requests and very occasionally from a post I've commented on.

I've cleared all my apps on facebook cleared my apps cache cleared the data uninstalled and reinstalled the app, logged in and logged out checked all the notifications are active on both the website and my app my sync is on on my phone and i've toed the app in with xperia for Facebook and without it.

Any one know how I can fix this, my wife has a z3 compact and recieves all her notifications she even gets a little number on the app icon to say how many notifications she has.
