Speed dials are one of the most important requirement for me.
Its very sad Sony....
Seriously sony speed dials are part of each and every phone out there . . .

There are other threads on the same topic, in this same sub-forum (Xperia Z1) so posting on those threads should do it, but keep in mind that one of the great things about Android is that you don't have to wait for any OEM to add features, we have the PlayStore.

the unfortunate situation with the tonnes of manufactures is that they do not keep some features as standard. If you take samsung htc and sony etc each has a different way of doing what they do. hence a lot of people prefer vanilla android or a rom like cyanogenmod that is as close to vanilla as possible.

Anyway this speeddial thing has been annoying me since i got the phone since i was always using a custom rom or touchwiz.

Regardless i do hope that sony takes this really seriously and makes the change to the new firmware... its quite sad that this, flip to silence and a decent working camera arent standard features Face_with_stuck-out_Tongue_&_winking_Eye

Look at this:

Where is Sony ?

Do you think it's bucause of "no speed dial" or because of white (not dark) interface ?

These are two things I hate in my Z1. Slightly_frowning_Face

Can you not just use the direct dial shortcut. Press and hold a space on your home screen, select apps, then shortcuts, then direct dial, then you can select the contact and number, this is then on your home screen, you just press it and it rings them. Quicker than speed dial as you don't even have to open the dialer!
