Xperia Z1 lag camera app

I just upgrade my Z1 to lollipop with the latest firmware, but since the first lollipop relased, my default camera app started to get laggy when I move my phone. It doesn't happen in the older version of android, but it does in lollipop. I wonder if you guys have something in common and know how to fix it?

Try Clearing the camera app data.

How to clear data on apps.
From your Home screen

1. Tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Settings > Apps.
3. Swipe to the All tab.
4. Find and tap on the camera app.
5. Tap Force stop > Clear data.
6. Restart the phone

I did just now. But still, it's kind of laggy compared to the other camera app which doesn't lag at all. I really love the default camera of sony, but not like this.

When I updated my xperia z1 to lolipop version, my camera have the problem. Its always log and delay. What I need to do?

Try to clear the data.

Settings > apps > all  > Camera > clear data.

Remember, it's gonna reset every setting you did in your camera app

If the above doesn't help you, kindly go for a software repair as it would help your phone to get free of glitches and lag and improve performance and user experience.

Here's how. And do not forget to backup everything before performing a repair

Update / Repair your phone via PC Companion

Download PC Companion and install it. Do not connect your phone until you're asked to do so.

Launch PC Companion > Start Support zone > Start Phone/ Tablet Software update > select Repair my Phone / Tablet > Follow the on-screen instructions it shows.

I update my z1 to lolipop, since July 2 untill now July 6 my camera is istill laggy. Please help me thanks

Hi jake30, 

Have you tried clearing the data for Camera under Settings > Apps > All > Camera?

If the issue has occurred after the update then you can reinstall this latest update with PC Companion - this is likely to smoothen things out for you. 

1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone. (If you can unlock the phone then you can do a backup first as this process will delete all user data, just click Start under Backup & Restore and follow on screen instructions).
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

PC Companion is a program made for Sony Xperia users, you can transfer media such as photos, music and videos through it, back up your handset, sync your contacts/calendar, update and repair the software etc. Running a software repair on PC Companion like I suggested would re-flash the software as it removes & reinstalls the operatinf system of the device.
