Xperia Z speaker not working

Hi ,

I am expereincing problem with xperia Z speaker , as recently updated with new android and new software update , xperia Z's speaker is not working , its working fine only with head set , if i play any videos without head set it doesnt give any sound , ring tone is working and i cant even hear if any calls answered in the phone.

Pls help me out , i tried repairing and updating the ph again and again , still the issue is same

Also,

Ear Speaker and Microphone Test failed in Xperia Dignostic even after trying 2-3 times.

I have the same problem since this morning, really frustrating!
I have updates the phone, i have gone through the reset procedure; still nothing.
I ran the diagnostics app whilst coincidentally laying my indexfinger on the "flap-thingy" that is securing the hole where the headphone has to go in.

And... Voila! Sound!!
Sure, it is not a very permanent solution, but it buys me some time before going to the store 🙂

Same here.

External speaker stopped working.

Nothing solves it.

Not what kk_ suggested, not safe mode, not diagnostic (although it can produce sound in the test), nothing.

This is after I thought the last update to 4.4.4 solved all the milion bugs with the sound and the internal/external/ speaker - headset.

I'm really disappointed.

If Sony can't fix a few software bugs which are related to the sound, I don't think I will buy Sony ever again!

Hi

I am facing the same issue with internal/phone speaker!

It looks like there is a problem with headphone Jack. When I put my finger and press on headphone jack, I lose the sound in internal speaker! The phone may be thinking there is a headphone plugged in to my phone. I still looking for solution, please share if you find one!

I am facing facing the same problem. I have keep rebooting my phone to check whether i can hear the other perso speak when he/she calls. The same happens while doing outgoing calls. **bleep**ty Situtaion. I look like a fool to talk on loudspeaker.
Sony, please come up with an update to solve this bug. Does anyone has a solution to it ?

Only helps return to the version 10.4. I'Ll try update from 10.4 until latest. May be bug In the first or second update 10.5

I think the same that you,,the problem is that the phone think that de headphone are conected and i cant hear nothing,but sometimes,the sound come back,,,if you turn off the clear phase and xLoud and then you make a restar.

This also worked for me, frustrating problem.
Come on Sony sort this sh#t out.
