Xperia SP Display Problem!

All SP owners please check this in your phone as well.

I'm having problems with my sp's display when the phone is kept on horizontal surface.

In the video,  phone is kept on the bed and i'm trying to use it. But you can see  the screen just misses the touch 😕 I wonder why.

This only happens when the phone is kept horizontally.

Ps: screen guard is not the problem since I checked with 2 different guards and phone works perfectly in hands.

PS2 > The screen works fine while phone is put to charging.

Yes. If I hold the phone at hand the problem goes away. Or when the contact with the metal side frame is maintained, even when the phone is resting on horizontal surface, the problem will go away.

Even the surface on which the phone kept matters.

I've told them I've already tried the software repair (& 2 factory resets) so hopefully they won't try & fob me off with that!

Had an email last night saying that they've received the phone, hopefully it won't be long before I've got it back & can let you know whether it's any better!

Guys have any one of you tried a custom rom and checked it the prob still is/was there?

there are no custom roms available but i have used firmware 211 and 284 and odexed and deodexed too, and only work around i know is to turn the screen off and on again unless the problem is gone, hard reset and flashing firmware doesnt solve the problem glove mode on and off still problem is there

My phone display was acting in the same way after 2 days of purchase, to start again it I need to open the cover and use the off button.

I updated the software of the phone once, I bough the phone(the update was around 500mb). That seems to be causing the issue.

Resetting the phone to factory default seems to fix the issue. The update which installed seems to be causing the problem. I am happy now, problem did not occur after factory default.

I love the display clarity on the phone. Awesome, while watching movies on it.:smileylaugh:

Yeah guess what? The glove mode is on by default. Disable it and then turn the screen off and on a couple of times and restart it. Then you have the problem back.

I have same problem. When I press the screen, software doesn't respond. Example, doesn't work backspace (erase) button on the keyboard while I was sent a message. Same problem seems another menues.

I guess we need fix update for this problem.

I have similir problem.

It happen regardless the phone were hold in hand or put on bed or whatsoever.

It work better if the glove mode were unabled, buy not fully function.

Furthermore, glove mode should be an option, not to be considered as a workaround..

I am from malaysia. Sony service center re-install my phone to factory default and it seem work. But the it only take few hour for the problem to return.

Sony, do you hear us ?!?!?!

any progress about this problem ? i'm planning to buy this phone after few days and also there is no warranty for Sony handsets.
