Xperia SP Display Problem!

All SP owners please check this in your phone as well.

I'm having problems with my sp's display when the phone is kept on horizontal surface.

In the video,  phone is kept on the bed and i'm trying to use it. But you can see  the screen just misses the touch 😕 I wonder why.

This only happens when the phone is kept horizontally.

Ps: screen guard is not the problem since I checked with 2 different guards and phone works perfectly in hands.

PS2 > The screen works fine while phone is put to charging.

Just to add my experience with this phone.  Whilst the touch screen isn't quite as responsive as others I've used, I don't notice any difference when lying it down horizontally.  So the problem does appear to be limited to certain handsets, not all.

An update to my situation!

Went back to the EE store & as is always the way, they couldn't replicate the issue!!

Phone back on my desk today & again it's unresponsive (especially when using the keyboard - which is when it's most annoying!).

Will live with it for the time being & see how it goes but can see me having to send it off to Sony to be looked at properly.

I wish Sony would come out & say that they are aware of this issue even if it is only affecting some handsets (early batches of them?)

whenever i put the phone in the flat surface the touchscreen become unresponsive and starts behaving like mad

I really want to buy this phone. Should i wait for a specific solution to come out or buy another phone?

I too noticed this problem, 2 weeks after the purchase. When the phone is on a horizontal surface and am texting, I found that the backspace key does not respond. If I maintain contact with the metal edge of the phone while pressing the backspace, it responds!

So if I use the mobile normally in hand i will not be facing any issue?

And touching the metal edge while in flat surface works?

I have now sent my phone off to a Sony Repair Centre so hopefully it'll come back in a few days minus this problem!!  Will post an update when I get the phone back.

Has anyone tried using the GPS Status & Toolbox app from Google Play?  Has this helped at all?

Today I bought this phone for development. I will bring it tomorrow. Thanks Sony for my x10 mini, tipo dual and sp. Please do not make any phone.

If you follow ZdendaF's posts then you'll notice that the problem returned for him/her.

Let's hope the repair center wont just repair the phone through PC Companion.

Please let us know if the problem is gone after you have recieved it and started using it normally.

i have this strange issue, in system apps like email i cant open a email nor i can go back as the touch does not respond there but just near it i can make it a selection of emails, this is really weird like i can go in setting but cant select anything like sound display or any other menu and no matter what i do keyboard does not comes up, any help please. i am planning to sell this phone now so bad touch issues im facing.
