Xperia ray - Power button problem

Yesterday my phone was lying on a desk when suddenly the screen started turning on and off, sometimes the long-press-menu appeared, all without touching the phone. I found out that the power button obviously became super sensitive but clearly not stuck or anything. It works properly just when touching the button while it doesn't respond to pressing it in. It's just so sensitive it's being activated by air...

I found a video about how to disassemble this phone, so I tried this and found nothing wrong inside. No signs of any water, rust, everything was on its place and not moving freely. So I assembled everything back and inserted the battery - everytime I pull out the battery and insert it back in, the phone starts in seconds by itsself. That was causing me several problems when I tried to repair the phone via SUS. I finally succeed with that but the problem remains there. I'm thinking about one more thing before I run out of ideas. Phone's "BIOS" needs to be repaired, but I have no idea how to do it.

Any suggestions?

The phone is 2,5 years old, always kept in a case and being handled with caution (I mean I wasn't throwing the phone around, dropping it in the water, etc.). It's out of warranty so if I can't repair it by myself, I won't be taking it to a service but I'll buy a new one.

Then you have to take it to a Sony repair center as it might be a hardware issue, sorry

I'm not so sure it's a hardware issue. The phone was working just fine for 2,5 years and now suddenly this comes up. I would understand if the phone would have fallen on the floor, water or something.... But nothing like that happened for a long time now. To check it out I disassembled the phone (there's a video on youtube how to do it. "Disassembling xperia ray" or something like that, very nicely shown). There was just everything fine inside. So if I take it to the repair center, they will probably replace the motherboard (might help), but it will cost me 50€+ for sure. If it doesn't help, then I just threw away that money. I rather buy a new one and that's it for another 2 years.

Problem solved. I replaced the SIM card reader and the phone works fine again. 10€ on ebay including postage.

Same promlem here. But please let me know about the fact that if I replace my ST18i Sim Card Reader Flex Cable then will it properly work again.
