Xperia P Backup file not compatible? Help!!

i backed up my xperia p using the PC companion which stopped responding a couple of times in the process!!

then stupidly before checking the backup file i used the repair phone function which totally wiped my phone and reinstalled android ICS.

when i go to restore the backup file to my phone in Sony PC Companion this message comes up 'this backup is not compatible with your phone and will not be added.'

does anyone know if i can still restore my phones apps, messages & contacts etc. as i have some important messages & contacts which i have now lost!! please help

Well, I will tell you that even if you can restore it with PC Companion, it does pretty much nothing.  Just did it yesterday.  It does not even reinstall the apps.

The android auto backup does even more than PC Companion.

yes the major problem with backup of PCC is its unable to take backup of the applications installed from the market

Hmm, sounds really wierd.. I'd recommend you to contact your local Sony Mobile support and let them help you to look that up.

i have the same problem with my xperia u! i restored it to factory settings.gaaah!!! cant restore the back up file!
