Xperia l not charging

A week back I updated my Xperia l to 15.3A.1.17. Everything was going fine.
But yesterday after I did reset phone isn't charging. After charging continuously for 5 hours indicatotr was showing 9%

Hi, 

First of all I would suggest that you remove the battery for a few minutes. Put it back and try to charge again. 

If the behavior still persists, I suggest that you try to charge your phone using another charger.

In that case I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion:

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone/tablet".

i also had this problem, i have tried taking ou the battery for a while and replacing it, i have tried repairing my phone software on the sony Pc companion on my computer but nothing has worked. My phone runs out of battery whil it is still charging. would buying a new battery help?

Step one: pull out the battery

Step two: Short the terminals of battery. SImply licking the golden connectors would do so. You would feel salty taste

Step three: reinsert the battery and let it charge
