Wifi turns itself on automatically

I use an Xperia sp, lately its wifi gets turned on by itself and doesn't even show on the notifications bar as on. I turn it off and in a couple of minutes it's back on by itself again, I really do think the anomaly is associated with some app or bug like a service that runs perpetually. I have checked all settings and all to no avail... I live in Nigeria soo more often than not the connection I have for data is from my network providers sim...pls advice. Do I need an antivirus or something

Hi Neeyee, welcome to the community!

Try booting the phone in Safe Mode to see whether the same issue occurs or not & then report back to us. 

To enable Safe Mode: Press the power key until the Power Off menu appears, hold your finger on the Power Off message for 2-3 seconds until it says Reboot to Safe Mode > tap OK. 

To exit Safe mode you just power the phone off and then on normally.
