unlocking Z2 with PC companion

I have a Xperia Z2, without the passcode for the lock screen, i downloaded the Sony PC Companion, but once the phone is detected, it says i have to unlock the screen, but i was told i need the program to do so, if i put my simcard in the phone will that help me bypass this step? i have no way of recovering the password for the phone, but i just thought this would be more simple!!

If this is simply regarding unlocking the phone due to forgetting your password, then I suggest that you follow the steps below.

The phone will be turned off during the whole process, you will also not connect the handset until the last step.

1. Download the PC Companion software from PC Companion and install it on your PC.

2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.

3. Phone Software Update.

4. Start.

5. Repair Phone

6. Continue

7. Accept data removal

8. Next

9. Wait for prepare

10. Select Phone

11. Follow the connection steps
