unable to mount sd card

i have an experia z ,4.4.4 version with the latest update. my problem is i am having trouble getting the phone to mount the sd card so that i can transfer photo's to it. i have taken the card out and re inserted but still won't mount. does the sd card need to be a sony genuine card or not? please help as i have lots of photo's i want to transfer thanks troublemaycome

Why won't it mount? Make sure the device is turned off and you turn it on while the microSD card is inside.

well that i don't know. i have done what you have said but still wont work. does it have to be a genuine sony sd card? i have two micro cards and neither of them work

Do you have a secondary SD Card you can borrow to test briefly as you may have a fault with the card?
