Thumbnail Legacy

Hi Guys,

i see alot question about this thumbail and in XDA forums also and i still dont find any working solution.

in fact, the thumbnail size now in my internal memorry is getting bigger, from 0,9Gb to to 1,0 and again up to 1,4 then 1,5 and then finally 1,07GB after many many try.

what try?

0. i moved any images in my internal & external, even unmount my SD,

1. i delete the thumbnail in DCIM folder, delete com,android.providers.media, delete lost.dir

2. remove, rename other file that have small size to replace current thumbnail,

3. force close album in apps,

4. clean using xda app 1 click thumbnail deleter or clean master,

5. clean internal data and sd data

6. restart and it keep appearing with new big size

final thing that i haven't try is reinstall this phone, write off everything starting from zero, but before i do that,

any one in here can help me solve this issue?

please help, it's killing my mood, i love this phone

Why don't you delete the thumbnail folder?

Go to Settings > Apps > All > ( Search for Album, remove cache and data )

Restart

Restart your phone to turn off all running applications and to remove memory blocks. Remove and reinsert the battery and the SIM card. Then restart your phone.

yup, i already did those 2 steps that you guys given to me... the thumbnail keep appearing, sometimes it appear 2 thumbnails in next 2 or 3 hous (sometimes after some restart for trying above methods)... almost in same size, killing my internal memory direct hit to 100% full.

please advise,

Hi Sony Team,

please respond. is it a bug or at least could you release a update that can fix this issue, move it to SD card perhaps still acceptable to me

I have never seen this before and as such it is not a bug requiring a new version of firmware. However given the nature of the problem and what you have tried up to this point it would be worth running a repair:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

Hi Sam,

thx for the respond,

so just want to make sure, before i start doing the repairing,

is this procedure will erase all data in main storage and internal storage?
