you cant just beliv am facing that same problem, problem of 3G signal bt why on earth dnt i jush hv the luck, i bought sony xperia arc S last month but i can only browse on 2G network, i hv to sell it and go for sony xperia TX lt29i  now i bought this fone 3G will only show up whn it like not whn i like, can somebody pls help me out wht to do to get my 3G strong plssssssssssss@adim

That's not the phone or phones, the issue is 

either 

1. an old SIM card

2. wrong APN settings 

3. there is no 3G network coverage in your area

4. the 3G frequencies are not compatible with your handcent
