I am writing to inform you of my dissatisfaction with the customer support being provided by Sony India to its Customers.
I had purchased a Sony Xperia Z2 on the 31st of May 2014 and I face a build quality issue with it in 3 months. I did not expect this of a flagship device from Sony. Problem with the device is that the body panel has cracked, right where the Sim Flap is and this has made the sim flap loose thus making the device susceptible to water damage. The cause of panel crack is not known to me as the there is device was not dropped and there is no other sign of physical damage to it. It was noticed cracked by me straight out of the pocket. I had to take it to the Service centre within Hyderabad (Universal Electronics) and they inspected the same and told me that nothing can be done about it initially and on my protest and further arguments i was given a service job sheet with a wait time of 10 days. It took me a while to convince the service centre that Sony gives out accidental damage cover along with the phone. I would expect when Sony is giving a Accidental damage cover along with the phone to honour the same when required.
This kind of treatment is unacceptable by any standards. I have happily owned a Apple, Samsung and numerous other devices and never had to go through such harassment. I am extremely unhappy with the happenings. With the situation i am in right now after having paid 48k inrs for a phone to Sony, i expect this to be my first and last Sony device of any sorts.
I sincerely hope Sony India is looking to retain its customers for the future and looks to resolve such major issues.
