i bought a sony xperia z1, second hand from cex, about 3 months ago and i have been very impressed with the phone. however yesterday i was out with a friend and we had just been filming with the phone, i then put the phone in my pocket for 5 mins. when i took the phone out the screen had a crack starting from the top middle of the phone. i had a packet of polos and a small mp3 player in my pocket, but the phone was in a shockproof case when it happened, so i dont understand how it has happened, because there certianly wasnt enough force applied to my pocket in those 5 mins to crack the screen. now the phone is useless to me as the screen now has a mind of its own and it doesnt register touches very well.
so does anybody know if CEX should cover this under the 12month warranty they supply with phones
and also does anybody know how much it costs to get the screen repaired, because i doubt sony will do anything with it being second hand and i doubt CEX are likely to do anything
You need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
Is CEX a store? based on other user's posts it seems that it will cost your about 1/3 of the phone's prize to replace the LCD+Digitizer, it will be cheaper if you DIY but you will void the warranty.
yes, CEX is a store that sells second hand electronic products
and thanks for the advice
