I am hoping someone can help me with this as I am out of ideas!
I have converted from Apple iPhone to a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and am really happy with the phone. However, I a problem with MP3 files that have been converted from M4A format. The majority of them are fine but certain audio book files are over 2 hours in length. I convert the M4A files to MP3 and the file size is correct and the play back time is also correct. That is until I upload them to the phone! Any MP3 that goes over 1 hour and 19 minutes will only playback up to that time limit.
For example, one mp3 audiobook file is 3 hours 55 minutes in playback length with a file size of 225mb. I upload the mp3 to my phone and the file size shows correct at 225mb. However, when playing the file back through any music player app, it restricts playback to 1 hour 19 minutes. This happens to any mp3 file over this playback length.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, what is the solution?
What if you transfer the files through Media Go ?
Also you can change the format with FormatFactory, its free (For PC)
Isn't it possible to play M4A files directly on the Xperia?
Or are there DRM issues?
Have you tried with a 3rd part player?
I have used Mort Player in the past: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.stohelit.folderplayer
But I never tested with a MP3 file over 2 hours.
Can you upload an example, so we can test?
Thanks for the heads up
