Sony Xperia z screen issue (fuzzy)

Hi all,
Recently I was travelling Asia, and the place was extremely hot. About half way through my phone started fuzzing, as show in link, and this gradually got worse and now im unable to view pictures or read text unless I turn the screen and pull down the notifications viewer. The screen tends to be more fuzzy with more colours, the fuzz isn't constant it moves and when something simple is showing there's no fuzz at all.
The back came loose a few weeks after this started, I gave the phone to a friend who knows his stuff, he cleaned it out and checked some parts and said to me that it's water damage and I probably need a new screen. I bought the phone on a contract on Christmas Day, so I haven't had it for long and I'm at the start of a contract.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Will Sony fix it and will it cost me if so?

This is my second Xperia z, the other has serious water damage and won't turn on. I do love these phones and I'd really like to get at least one fixed, preferably both, however I've heard Sony tend to charge a hefty amount for repairs so I'm unsure atm.
Any thoughts on this phones condition would be much appriciated.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I'm sorry to hear that.
I suggest that you raise this with your local support team for further information about the warranty coverage and how to proceed with this in the best possible way:

Hi, my phone also the same issue. I think it started just after I dropped the phone and the back cover cracked then became loose. Did you ever resolve the issue?

Hi, yeah I explained what happened to Sony, they said it was an act of God and fixed it with no charge. Replaced the Camera and a cable apparently? Not the screen.

At the moment my screen is doing the same thing, bluring when the picture has high resolution. This after I already replaced the screen after parts of it wasn't working properly. I have always been a believer in Sony, even bought my girlfriend one for her birthday, now not so much.
