Sony Xperia SP - phone getting heated while charging!

My phone gets heated up like crazy while I am trying charge it. The charging is terribly slow. It gets only 79% charged after an entire night on charger. I charger is connected to a wall socket, so the PC cannot be blamed. I tried a different USB cable no luck with it.

The phone gets heated if I play for even 4 mins or speak for 6 to 7 mins. Please do not say it is normal as there are many phones in the market which does not. Is this expected from Sony?

rese your mobile device by using the off button behind the back cover hold down for 8secs and wait for it to vibrate 3 times then restart your device

It could be that the charger output is too low.Try a more powerful charger(1,5 A maybe).Try also the forced shutdown by pressing the little button on the back.
