Sony please stop failing!

I connected my xperia SP to Sony PC companion this morning and I was shocked to see 'UPDATE AVAILABLE'

Finally I said, waiting months and months for this 4.3 update! I never received any of the previous ones so have been stuck with 4.1.2 for a long time. Checked xperia news and it said there is a new update so I assumed this must be it.

The download took a long time due to my slow internet, over 1 hour. I'd say the file was close to 1gb. It finished installing but when the phone started up I was shocked to see my android version and build number were exactly the same. I thought maybe I needed to reset the phone so I did, and lost all my apps and data. I didn't care though if I got the update, but again... still on 4.1.2

Why Sony did you have me download and install the exact same android version again? Are you just trying to annoy us or what? So yeah, still on 4.1.2 even after downloading and installing a 1GB file from pc companion. Nothing but wasted bandwith and lost data due to this.

Is your phone carrier-connected or a generic phone?

I've had the same problem, been waiting since the first release date in December and finally thought that was it last night when I recieved an update notification on PCC, but no still 4.1.2.

Yes, me too. UK unbranded phone on 4.1.2.

Thanks Sony - that's my monthly download limit blown 'upgrading' to the same version.

Is it really that difficult to let users know which version they are downloading first?

I have had exactly the same problem and I'm from the UK with an unbranded phone. It's a complete joke

Sure is, really putting me off every buying another Sony product.

Stuck on an ancient version of android. Then they have us download 1gb for absolutely nothing at the same time they announce the 4.3 is rolling, seriously what the ...
