problem with xperia miro wifi

hi i have bought a xperia mirop since 2 days ago but every time i turn on the wifi and tap the scan botton it doesn't detect any thing and i can't connect to any network

my android ver. is 4.0.4 

i really need to help

Do you have an active SIM card in the phone? 

Have you tried to search for networks on different locations where there are WiFi networks? 

If you have I suggest that you update/repair the phone software using PC Companion:
