Potential Water Damage

I've had my Z2 for about a year now.

Recently, I suffered some issues with the charging flap( the plastic around the edges came off and it no longer closed) and the headphone jack( you only heard music on one side).

I took the phone in for servicing it was still under warranty) at my carrier (Orange Dominican Republic) and after two weeks got it back.

I specifically asked the Customer Service representative at Orange whether my phone retained it's waterproof capabilities and she said yes.

So today, after a series of test, and checking thoroughly if the flaps were well closed, I finally submerged my phone, as I'd done hundreds of times before the repairs.

And today, disaster struck.

My screen became unresponsive, and my phone detected the memory card as ejected, and upon checking the slots, I saw water.

I love my Xperia, have treated it very well, and am now fearful for my phone.

I put in a Ziploc full of rice, and when I turned it on, the screen lights uo, but is unresponsive to touch.

The sidebuttons and the speakers also seem to be working.

So, in summary.

Help?

Hello, sorry to hear this......your only option i'm afraid is to either contact your local Xperia Care Centre tho my first port of call would be to talk to your Carrier as mentioned as they carried out the repairs. If they said it would still be waterproof then it should be but something in writing would have been better, they ideally should have carried out a Vacuum Test after the repair......ask them to clarify this as it is the only way to determine if it is indeed still waterproof after the work has been carried out.

Best of luck
