Phone notifications cause vibration during call

Hi,

I did a quick search and couldn't find this in the forum.

During a call, if there's any kind of notification (email or sms) or alarm the phone will annoyingly vibrate which I and the other person can hear.

I've looked in the settings and haven't found a way to only turn off vibrate during calls. The only thing in the settings I've seen is to just turn of notifications completely, which I don't really consider a solution since I would like my phone to vibrate when things come in normally.

Hope you guys can tell me I've missed the simple setting that stops vibration during a call.

Welcome to the community,

With the information I have available to me this does not seem possible to remove, the device will let out a vibrate to let you know there has been a message/email alarm etc, this is because your handset is set to notify you when something of this nature occurs.

Ah that's unfortunate, thanks for looking.

It can be kind of embarrassing to have to explain what the strange noise is during a call.

I thought it could be linked with the proximity sensor just like the screen disabling when up to your ear.

I may have to start looking into custom roms now. I'll keep this going just in case somebody has a solution.

Not a problem, maybe @uliwooly or @alexdon have some form of work around.

Sorry,looked around and not sure but maybe if you have hangouts or other 3rd party app for messages,you might be able to disable the vibrations. However,not sure if during a call this will help.

Thanks Alex, yes I've also found them to disable vibration at certain times of the day but not during a call.

Not sure if you're allowed to talk about custom roms here but I'll post here if I find one that can do this.
