Oversampling in Superior Auto

Hi people,

We all know the latest flagships use oversampling in Superior Auto. And it's limited to 8mp. It seems logical to think other handsets that have superior auto also does oversampling. I mean if not, why limit it to one particular mp? But I don't think I ever heard any official statements regarding that. So my question is do other handsets -particularly SP- have oversampling in superior auto?

And I still take better pics in manual mode, does this mean if it has oversampling 5.4 mp is not the right size to show it? I wouldn't mind less mp if pics turns better. How is your experience with SA and Manual?

Yes, they're limited to 8MP on stock ROM. But there's a mod to break that. SP is limited to 5MP on 4.3 (if I'm not mistaken). The same mod will increase it to 7MP as in 4.1.2.
But me myself prefer Manual for the optimal size. The picture quality of Superior Auto is easily obtained through photo editing app like Picsay Pro for example.

Thank you Bee-Ant for your reply. I don't mind limited mp as long as superior auto has oversampling thus having better results than manual mode. You know oversampling or pixel binning combines neighbour pixels' data to have purer readings, so it should have less noise, better sharpness, better low light performance and better colors. I wanted to know if SP utilized oversampling, if it did it might not be working in my phone cuz almost everything I mentioned are worse in SA. Thanks for mentioning the mod though, since it's not better why limit it right? I might try it later :smileysmileythumbsup:

Oh, my bad... I don't know with the oversampling. But here's the link to the mod:

Seems like nobody knows about oversampling anyway. So this ported app has bigger mp in SA, I bookmarked the thread for future reference. Thank you.
