On-The-Go USB and Magnetic Charging Cable simultaneously?

Hi everybody I am new to this forum so thank you in advance for reading!
Has anybody had any experience with using an on-the-go USB connector AND the magnetic charging cable simultaneously on their Xperia Z-series device... and does it work?
I am considering buying the Z3 Tablet Compact when it becomes available to use as a field monitor with my vdslr rig (running the DSLR Controller app) which requires the USB port to be used with an OTG connector wired into my DSLR. I have already successfully used my Galaxy Tab2 10.1 for some time with this but is a little on the big/heavy side and the battery life is poor so it doesn't last too long. The Xperia Z-series having a separate magnetic charge port is suddenly a very tempting option now there will be a lightweight, 8 inch option with a super-fast processor.
BUT it is a lot of money to part with if the two charging ports cannot be utilised simultaneously! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated guys.

The magnetic charging port will only work if connected to a main socket - So if you're thinking of using a USB port from a Pc or in car charging port then it won't work

Thank you for the quick reply!
But do you know if they work simultaneously...?
Surely there will be a hardware workaround of some sort for the plug issue?

Is there a particular voltage requirement or is it proprietary wall plugs only?

I have no idea so all I can do is direct you to Xperia care who may be best placed to answer such a question http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/support/contact-us/

All I know from owning one is that it only works when pluged in to a mains socket - I assume it is an amps thing but I'm unable to test this theory - It could also be a monitoring detector in the phone which is able to detect the type of power - Sony themselves have also said it will only work via a mains socket

Has anybody else on here had any experience with this problem?

Look there:

On Z1 it worked but it doesn't mean it will on Z3. We can't be sure without testing.
