I got my xperia z2 white version a month ago and when I first got it I noticed that there is gaps between the glass and the aluminium frame... after a month of usage it fell accedentaly on dust and became dirty so I decided to put it in water for 2 minutes... before I did I made sure that all the flaps are closed well also I turned it off ... after the 2 mintues I removed from water ,then dryed it with soft cloth and vacuummed the water from the speakers using electric vacuummer ,vacuumed it all the way round and did that very carefully,... after I removed it and waited like 5 mintues ,I booted the device ,when it booted up and showed the lock screen the screen touch was crazy! It started to touch alone, unlock alone and browse apps, close and when I touch it ,it wasn't responding, I wasn't able to do anything ,and I noticed that the double tap to wake up feature wasn't working! So I decided to turn it off by long pressing on the camera button then on the power button and succeded to turn it off till I finally was able to shut it down, I put it in a warm room for 5 minutes and then gave it time to cool down and relax in room air, after that I turned it again but it was the same again, the touch isn't working and accessible! I think this problem is caused of this gaps on the bottom and top of the front and the back of the device! I'm really disappointed and I'm seeing to visit a local support center to see if they can fix it or replace it for me because before making a product ,the maker should test it not the custumer since they say it's waterproof and safe to put underwater! That's the company's fault because of the inaccurate built of the device with gaps on the top and the bottom of the front and the back of the device...
Don't know if they're noticable in pictures.
Have the same gaps. Maybe I should not try dip it in water.
Try checking with your local Xperia Care centre if you can get a replacement.
It's a manufacturing defect so it should be covered.
You probably got one of the earlier batches with the manufacturing defects. The newer ones don't have this issue.

Hi, not all earlier batches have manufacturing defects such as the 'gaps'....i like a few others i know have one of the earlier/first batches with no unequal gaps.....i have always wondered if it is more of a quality control issue at the end of production even to the newest ones that lets slip thru some poor quality ones......are all Z2s manufactured in the same place i wonder
He has 14W28 apparently so I'm surprised how he has those manufacturing defects. I just saw a phone with the same batch number with no defects whatsoever.
I would be fine with an equal gap all around, but unequal gets me a little uneasy (my eyes focus on these things too much
).

You know what its like....once you start looking all you see is potential problems :smileysmileywink: people are complaining about gaps between the frame/glass on the new Samsungs as well & couple that with the iPhone 6 flexing....these 'problems' shall become more & more apparent as manufacturers move towards similar designs
