message centre changing

I am using xperia arc s , and i am unable to sends sms from my phone, as i contacted service provider , he asked me to check the mesg centre number , but i didnt find it ny where , could u please help me changing mesg centre number ,

I tried changing smsc which came up on pressing *#*#4636#*#* , but its showing as update error

Could anyone please help me how to change message centre number in settings , please

By the way my phone is runnig on ICS ,

please help with the issue

We  get a list saing phone information , battery information and

wifi information another one i dont remember......

Tap Phone Information, scroll down to SMSC field, key in your message centre number in the blank field and tap Update.

Dial this *#*#4636#*#*

Go to SMSC:________________ Update        Refresh

Click on Refresh.

Enter the Service Centre No. in the SMSC Box As "+919434599997".145 (This the example. The last three number will come as per your service provider)

Press Update

It will definitely works
