Issue with pictures setting profile picture

Hello everyone,

I am having an issue with my phone. I'm trying to set the picture for the "myself" profile in the contacts section however when I try to set any picture (whether taken on my phone or downloaded) the following message appears: "Protected picture. Could not add" I've only had the phone for two days now so I'm unsure if this will have any other effects on other files or transfers.

I am now having the same error --- it started happening when I try to attach a Google Photo to my MMS. If I use another program (Sony built-in Gallery) it attaches. I tried reinstalling Google+, thinking that there's a bug. No luck.

I've had my phone since December, 2013 and this JUST started yesterday.

I had the same problem after I activated my Xperia in settings. When activated it protects all your images

How do u deactivate?
I am having the same problem. I got the phone for a long time now . and it only started today.
