You have 3 accesible memories on J?Internal, phone and sd card? You should be able to see if an app can be moved from one memory to another if you go to:settings-apps-all-select your app and hit move to... button.
When I attach my Xperia J to my PC Companion it tells me I have 4.84g of 5.56g available but will not update anything. I have emailed and rang Sony and they just request I send them my phone, which isn't good enough. I have installed a Cache cleaner and moved apps (the ones it will allow) to the SD card, still nothing. I think I'm fully aware of why these phones are only £30 on ebay, no-one wants one!
I agree with you, Monty1981,
I am searching for a way to upgrade the internal memory and found this forum.
I have a few apps loaded that I use every day and the unused apps that come with the phone take up most of the internal memory. My 14 installed apps occupy only 75.2MB, yet somehow 86% of the internal memory is used. That means the pre-installed apps use over 500MB and even though I never use most of them, I am stuck with them. I have moved all the apps I could to storage, but have to clear my cache three or four times each day to improve phone performance.
I find it frustrating that the only apps I can delete are the ones I CHOSE to have in the first place. What was sony thinking when they sold a phone with enough internal memory to hold only their apps, but not enough to update them?
Oh, and the camera is horrible. I tried loading a different photo app, but uninstalled it when it made no difference. To see just how poorly the Xperia J camera compares, check out this handy camera phone comparison tool:
When I replace this phone, it will not be with a Sony product. What's their motto? Make.Believe I think that means "MAKE any crappy thing you want because consumers still BELIEVE in the Sony name." Maybe at Sony head office the sign says: make.believe.suckers!
