How to start using HDR ?

Hi

Does anybody tell me how to shoot HDR photos ?

Currently I have tryed two different way but camera still shoots without effect. HDR and noHDR stills seem identical with out any backlight compensation.

1. Under Manual mode i choosed Scene OFF and switched HDR manually ON - no effect

2. Under manual mode i choosed Backlight correction HDR scene - no effect

Any clue is welcome !

PS. Same time I used other payd Perfectly Clear app and this works well even with HDR.

On my device I need to open camera, switch into manual mode, make sure that it is set to 8 Mpix (HDR is not working in 15M and 20M).

Open settings, set ISO to AUTO and HDR to ON.

From this point HDR works fine. Sometimes, when there is no hard light conditions HDR and no HDR picture may look the same.

If it doesn't help try to reset Camera App settings in Settings / Applications / All / Camera -> force quit, clear settings.

I cant see any difference between stills shooted with and without HDR. Both are identical. This is why I'm worried.

I tested it in various conditions inside and outside with or without backlight, no effect. Maybe I missed something relevant, but simply turning HDR on doesnt give me nothing.

My settings:

Camera is set to manual mode

Scenes are OFF

White balans AUTO

Flash OFF

Resolution 8MP

HDR ON / OFF

ISO AUTO

Image stabilizer OFF

Hi.

I'm not sure about night conditions (it's too dark outside for me to test now) but I'll post two comparison pics tomorrow.

OK, lets see how your phone can handle HDR challenge.

Some more testings on daylight are provided following.

Infinitesimal effect, maybe its caused by little difference of shooting position. There is no HDR, just exposure seems bit different. It doesnt give right to tell, that this software have HDR support. Some other phones takes in same conditions better shoots without any HDR taglines.

Anyway I hope I'm doing something wrong. Slightly_smiling_Face
