How to recover selectively one app from backup?

Restore selectively one app from the backup.

It is Xperia. Except for app installation, firmware upates, changes in settings, saving user data there were no

manipulation on this device done like ROM or similar. No sim-lock, no branding.

Currently it is Sony original 4.4.4 on. Last backup was made for 4.4.2. using PCC and Xperia on-board

Backup & Recovery app.

In case of the former one, manual selection than all non-empty files and folders were selected for backup generation.

In case of latter all proposed items were selected to be backed up.

Recently and mistakenly one app was removed/uninstalled.

How to recover from available backups just only this app?

You wont be able to access the backup file as you have a different Android version.

One minute please. I believe Sony recommands backup of data prior the update

of firmware version.

Does that all also mean there is no chance to recover Xperia to previous 

state, state prior update to other Android version, in case of failure during such upgrade?

Let's imagine Xperia will upgraded from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4.

The upgrade does not suceed, nor the device is in usable state past that. Means does not start properly

or not at all. Normally flashing back the backup made prior the upgrade helps to get working device.

If it is true all in your such recovery is not possible.

Going back to original question.

Is it possible to extract the binaries of addressed app from made backups (PCC or the Xperia on-board

Backup & Recovery solution) and save to xperia device on other ways?

The problem arises because after the mistakenly made uninstall of app it turns out it is 

no longer available in Google Play.

One app was uninstalled by user for some temporary reason. After that it turned out the app is no more available in Google Play.

So it is not possible now to install it back. User need to have this app.

Fortunately there are backups. One made with Xperia on-board Backup & Restore solution and one using PCC.

However all those backups were made prior the last fw update from 4.2.2 to 4.4.4.

How to restore only this app from backup?

The user wan't restore the whole system, only one app is missing.

You can't backup apps from neither pcc nor the backup and restore app, the only thing they do is save a list of apps so you can re-download them
