How do I turn OFF the new function "camera-autostart when screen is locked"?

I did update my Xperia Z today, got an extremely annoying battery-drain as a new "feature": When the screen is locked, the phone is in my pocket and the touch sensors find that the phone screen is moved to one side (or the pocket move to the other side), the camera start and the autofocus-light goes on. This makes the phone get hot (because it is in my pocket) and (obviously) drains the battery.

I can add differrent autostart-functions as "read email when screen is locked", and remove all but the camera-autostart, but how do I either remove the camera-autostart or make another program start instead of it?

This new function is a blocker, I am working as IT-consultant in Hordaland County Council and need to use the phone for other things as pocket-heater. I did update three hours ago, and the phone have tried to be "pocket-heater" twice already..

The only way i know of is to use a 3:rd party app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wordpress.chislonchow.deviceadminkeyguard.

However, if you have the phone in such a way that you keep pressing the on/off button you will still have some battery drain as the display will be on alot. It will not use as much as the camera though.

Thank you for the short reply - my initial reaction was "I have to get this documented so I can get the money back for the phone, and NEVER use any Sony phones again".

It is a good phone, the sad thing is that the updates seeme to degrade the functionality - the last update did remove the screenshot function and this removed the security when the phone was locked.

I will keep my phone, but buy one of another brand as the one I use professionally. Am really not happy with what Sony do to the basic functions and basic secutiry on updates.

Simple. Go to the camera and get to camera settings. Turn off quick launch function. That will prevent your camera turning on when the camera button is pressed.
Also use a lock screen pattern or pin. This will ensure your phone from doing things in your pocket.
