Hardware problem with Xperia S (headphone jack detecting headphone insearted even if it is not inserted)

I bought my Xperia S 1 and half a month before and from past 3 weeks i can't hear the voice from speaker phone when calls are made or viceversa. I found that even though my headphone is not inserted into the headphone jack, it is detecting that headphone pin is inserted. I can clearly see it from liveware manager on sony xperia S.

2: Even though headphone is inserted, only one earpiece is getting sound.

I showed it to near by sony service center, they told that if it is hardware problem then they will replace with other phone but not a new one. Isn't it unethical to replace my new phone with used phone. Could i get a new phone if it is a hardware problem, if not could i go to consumer court to sue Sony.

Help me guys, you know how it feels when your phone is bugged with out our mistake.

It could be the case if you have a hard case.

But also likely the socket is full of compacted dirt, I couldn't insert any jack into mine and I've just fixed it by hooking the dirt out with a paperclip!

uys, after reinstalling several times with different firmwares, I took out the sim card , booted the phone, shutdown the phone, re-insert the sim card and uala´, problem disappeared. Unbelievable but true!

had this problem too (and when icon appeared i couldnt talk on phone cause i didnt hear anything from the speaker. at first few ocasions it helped me to plug in and out the headphone jack several times. last one though i had to blow the slot with compressed air to get rid of dust, and then wiped it clean with few ear buds and then few quick stabs with 3.5mm jack and it was ok

@Gigio74: Hey, try to insert the input the 3.5 headphones jack or and audio 3.5 jack in the top insert next to the power button, make it 6 or 7 times, next, try 2 times but faster, tell me if it worked...

me too facing the same issue "the accessory's microphone and buttons are not available"  pop up showing every time, also headphone jack detecting headphone insearted even if it is not.

Wer is the top bar actually ?? how can i resolve this issue ?

Guys dont worry i got solution for your problem with sony phone

-go to play store and download sondabout app

-open that app and you can change it as you want.... call ,music everything

and hence on dont buy son phone anymore.. service is useless

if son is concern then please replace our phone and repair the matter as soon as possible..
