External speaker not playing sound

hi,

i have the Xperia Z1C and have only had for around 3 weeks. It has recently started being tempremental with playing music/youtube videos etc out loud. SOmetimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Is this a known bug or is there something wrong with the hardware?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

There could be a number of reasons for this:

1. Check the easy one first and confirm if there is anything blocking the speaker area.

2. Rule out a software issue by running a software repair as below.

3. If this fails then it would be worth contacting your local  Xperia Care team reagarding arranging a repair.

Running the repair:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps
