Recently when I charge overnight the phone has crashed in the morning. The phone is off and unresponsive and I have to reset (via the red button or power & volume button) before it starts normally.
Charging while turned off works OK.
If I watch it charge then once it gets to nearly charged it seems to get very warm. GSam reported 45C at 99%, before I disconnected it.
It seems like the charging isn't happy, but since it works when the phone's off I'm hoping that there's a software fix I can do without having the go through the hassle with sending the phone in.
There's lots of talk online about batterystats.bin but I don't think I can alter that without rooting the phone. Is there anywhere else I can look, short of a factory reset?

Do you notice any excessive draining of the battery through normal use throughout the day?
No, there's no problems during actual use of the phone. The battery itself seems fine, it's just charging that has issues.
