Can't transfer data to SD card???

I have an 8GB Sony SD card. My internal memory is 85% full yet I can't transfer data to the SD card which has 5GB of free space.
I've tried transferring files on the computer and clicking the 'transfer data to SD card' option but that doesn't work/ only transfers 1 file occasionally.

You can't transfer apps to your SD card but you should be able to transfer things like Photo's, Music and Videos - The best way in my opinion is to do this via a Pc connected via a USB cable then once transferred I will check they have transferred and are working correctly and if they are then I will and only then delete the files from my internal storage freeing up space
