Backup phone with cracked screen

if the screen cracks on the xperia v.. is the a way i can backup the contents without the screen being active?

i bought a second one but i need the info on the broken one.. but i cant use the screen.. 

is there some way i can access the files and move them to the new one?

Which files? 

connect your phone to your PC > on your PC > computer > Xperia V > internal storage > DCIM has your pictures and videos, music, should be on a Music folder

I know how that works but there's a pattern password but I can't enter it due to the screen.. The PC companion can't access the fone.. Isn't there a backdoor?

Unfortunately any method that involves removing the lock so that you can access the contacts would involve clearing all of your personal data, including your contacts.
