Slow unresponsive device

My Sony Xperia XA1 is only a little more than a month old. It has been working fine until a week or so ago.

Now, it is super slow, keyboard unresponsive or pop-up and down when ever I try to write or text someone. Especially in game chats.

But also trying to type here is difficult.

I don't have any new installed apps. Have already performed a factory reset without solving the problem.

My device is up to date on all apps and have the latest software installed.

So, what is going on?

I have lots of free space, cleared chace and even installed Nova luncher today, in a desperate attempt to get my phone a little faster or more responsive. It did help a little, but problem still persistent.

Any advice, suggestions and help would be much appreciated.

You have "lots of free space" is it internal or SD card? 

could you boot in >>> safe mode  > open chrome > try to post here > do you experience the same lag?

Thank you for the reply. I have 32GB internal storage on this phone and used 63%

I do not feel comfortable trying out this "safe mode" As I am not that tech savvy.MMaybe I need to take it to the store where I bought it and send it to service as I still have Factory warranty?

Safe mode will only disable third party apps that can be causing the problem, it won't do anything else, you can restart the phone to exit safe mode
