Known Issues so far

3 Months of using this and most of the bugs are still there

These are the bugs:

1.] Camera app sometimes shows a unknown error

2.] Phone randomly freezes sometimes

3.] Still now RAW support, please sony, just add it (By that i mean full or limited mode of the camera2api)

4.] Both wifi and cellular drop from 3 bars to 1 bar sometimes.

5.] Wifi randomly disconnects.

6.] Overheating issues, possible solution- slow down the cpu clock when it reaches a certain level of degrees. Camera produces heat really quickly.Screenshot_20180330-220434.png

(battery wasn't charging, just some regular 1080p30fps filming)

7.] Camera's color tone goes to greenish in low light however it can be adjusted via brightness and color adjustments (hope it would do that automatically)

8.) Bluetooth issues (added by @Pol63)

10.] Battery percentage sometimes drops in a 2% adjustments(example: instead of going from 25 to 24, it goes from 25 to 23 skipping a percentage)

9.) Sometimes the mobile data signal just completely drops out (reported by other users)

11.) Not all calls received (reported by other users)

Im glad to see Sony watching this topic

My network provider has nothing to do with updates on my phone.  My device is unlocked.

It doesn't matter whether it is locked or not, that makes no difference, it's the network provider of the SIM that gets involved and therefore you'll eventually receive a pop-up message informing you of the availability for the update.

Not how it works in the USA bud.  Just got the update . This is a GSM unlocked device not bought through a carrier.  They have no say or involvement in uodates on my device.  Been using unlocked GSM phones for years...

Anyway, it's still 8.0 with June security patch.  No 8.1 yet.

Well that's what Sony Xperia support told me and they didn't say it differed from country to country.

I do believe that it does differ from country to country.

How did you eventually get the build update?

EDIT

Here is a copy from Sony site.

The availability of software updates depends on your device, country and/or operator. Please note that regardless of Android version some features and functionality may also differ depending on your device.

To see your current software version, updates and upcoming software releases, visit the software page on the Sony Mobile support site.

I just kept checking for software updates on the phone throughout the morning, eventually it popped up.

Have you got yours set to ON or wifi only under  Settings, just curious?

Hello, I have read the list of posts and it seems to me that nobody in this chat noticed the following issue. I have seen that there is an indipendent subject about it, perhaps it can be useful to add the issue to this subject.

While listening to the fm radio I am experiencing short pauses of roughly 5 to 10 seconds. This makes the fm experience quite annoing.

In fact I don't know if this is due to signal strength, I don't think so, since between the pauses the reception is good.

Thanks, Matteo

Yes, I have been able to replicate this.

I wonder if it will be fixed on the build update I'm waiting for which is 50.1.A.10.40 can those that have that update confirm if it fixes this radio fm bug?

I just don't use the pre installed radio app as it is useless and reception is poor at the best of times.

I'm using the BBC iplayer radio which is pure class.

Cobbler the info Sony give to you is for locket phones, because the carrier need to "test" the new update checking if everything its okay and work okay with their carrier/things, the unlocked one gets the update as fast has Sony push the updates like windows with their pcs .... Anyway I have wake up and seeing the email, any new about it or is just the security update without a real bug fixing for us?

My provider is Virgin Mobile and I'm told that they issue unlocked phones to their pay monthly customers, now whether that still applies to those that are paying for their mobile and SIM or just the SIM I really don't know.

Which reason would you say would be why I'm still waiting for the update to 50.1.A.10.40 ? as I'm paying for both.
