Battery failure\FUBAR??¿¿

Hi, thank you in advance for your assistance.

When charging my Xperia XA1 (Via USB direct or via the mains adapter) it'll attain 100% capacity and then the device attempts to reboot, it powers off & then upon start-up it "freezes" on the 'splash' screen, this locks the device up & it won't allow me to power it off via the power button. My only solution, when it freezes, so far is to wait until the battery dies {14~24hrs}, attach the device to a power supply & switch it on, monitoring the charge until 90~95% capacity & then remove it from the power before 100% capacity. After that the device battery then only lasts for a

maximum of 2 ~ TWO hours!!!!

Not ideal as you can imagine.

I've tried a Factory Reset & not restored any of my data\apps but this has made Zero difference the fault reappears straight away.

As the device does not have a removable battery that I could change i think that I now have a fantastically stylish paperweight?¿?¿?¿?😠.

{After all it's not heavy enough to be a door stop or a boat anchor}!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd be delighted if this was a known fault & someone could give me a solution as this is my favourite Xperia to date😀😆.

Hi folks,

After reading through the forum I discovered how to put my XA1 into "Safe Mode" & decided to try another experiment (my understanding is that in 'Safe Mode ' the XA1 runs with the bare applications required to still function as a phone.

I therefore charged it up to 95% & left it running over night, in the hope that "Safe Mode" would extend the normal battery life of 2 TWO hours maximum ~ alas to no avail '

Results as follows;

23:50 - 95% battery,

01:45 - 0% battery (not even enough to power the XA1 on!!!!!!!!!

HELP!!!!!! ANY IDEAS???? as I'm disabled i can neither afford a new phone, nor can I afford {because I'm disabled & can't work} to be without a mobile phone.

Any help resolving this issue would be met with my utmost gratitude & respect.
